This is from Lignier’s largest single parcel – 1.25ha in Nuits on the dejection cone from the combe, below premier cru Les Cailles along the Nationale. The brown marl with little limestone pebbles have produced a dark wine, with pronounced ripe plum aromas and a smoky, mineral edge. The texture is tannic and firm, with surprising length at the regional level. Well done indeed. Drinking Window 2023 – 2035.
